White River National Forest

Located in the heart of the beautiful Rocky Mountains, White River National Forest is one of the most popular recreation destinations in the country. Gore Creek

Mostly known for its magnificent fly fishing, Gore Creek is a tranquil little tributary of the Eagle River winding through the picturesque Vail Valley. Gore Greek offers miles of fabulous biking and running trails and amazing views of the valley.

Visitors Center

The White River National Forest visitor services are temporarily located at the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association and Colorado Mountain College at 802 Grand Avenue in downtown Glenwood Springs. Check out the newly renovated Visitor’s Center beginning February 2014.

    While the White River National Forest is located only 1 mile from Galatyn Lodge, it is most easily accessed through the complimentary bus system. The free shuttle service will take you to the nearest drop off points of your interests, from hunting to hiking trials.
  • What sort of permit/access fee is there for entrance into the park?

    Fees for entry into the White River National Forest is free. However, fees may apply for some activities and special permits.
